Can I Call an Inmate at CCC?
Ultimately, no. When someone is arrested for a felony in Caddo Parish, they are detained at the Caddo Correctional Center, CCC. CCC also houses inmates arrested for misdemeanors outside Shreveport City limits but within the parish. Caddo Correctional Center only houses adult inmates. If a minor is charged as a juvenile for a crime, they are not traditionally housed at CCC.
If an individual is incarcerated at CCC, you cannot call them. They have to reach out to you. Inbound calls are not permitted. Should an emergency arise, and you need to contact someone housed at CCC, you can call the facility, and they will determine whether the call will be allowed. Generally, that is reviewed by the warden and, depending on the circumstance, will be put in contact with someone within the facility who can facilitate transmitting the information. For example, if a family member or loved one dies, contact the Chaplain, who will facilitate the delivery of the bad news. If it is a medical emergency or condition, you will be connected with the nurse or the medical department to facilitate transmitting that information.
Electronic Communications
Caddo Correctional Center has an excellent system that allows inmates to email or send messages to friends and family via electronic communication. Friends and family can respond to these electronic communications, and inmates will receive that information when logging back into the devices.
And Remember, You Are Monitored!
Remember, all communications, whether via electronic or telephone, are monitored and recorded. Anything said can and will be used by law enforcement in the case.
Keep in mind the rules continually change. It can never hurt to simply call and ask!
