If you are operating a vehicle and pulled over and the officer arrests you for DWI, there are situations where your car may not be towed. As a former prosecutor and now a criminal defense attorney, I’m here to tell you there are alternatives to towing. First, if you have a licensed driver with you who is not impaired, they can take control of the vehicle for you. If you have no passenger, the officer will allow you a reasonable time and opportunity to contact another individual to take control of the vehicle for you. The reasonable time, however, is at the discretion of the officer. Call me if you have questions about a DWI stop, and we will discuss the specifics.

If you or someone you know has a question about DWI and towing your vehicle, do not hesitate to contact the law office of Larrion L. Hillman at 318-549-9180.
